I know that soft shadings are one of the ways to give a much more realistic style but I prefer this style much more (besides I learnt this from college/uni so that's why I'm used to this style =X)

Check out my drawings - they are only 3 for now, and because of lack of time, there won't be another one for some time now - there's the more realistic way of drawing shades

Some people might get their ideas in a different way but for me I would get them when I'm sketching or something inspires me by looking at other people's work
